Singapore, 9 April 2024 - The all-new Tiguan, marking the debut of the SUV's third generation, is available for purchase starting today. With comprehensive redesigns and enhancements across all aspects, including new mild hybrid drives featuring automatic Active Cylinder Management (ACT), this iteration promises greater efficiency. Additionally, a revamped and intuitively designed cockpit landscape introduces an array of digital services. Innovative features such as the latest Park Assist generation for automated parking and the incorporation of premium elements like the pneumatic massage function for front seats and IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights, derived from the Touareg flagship SUV, further elevate the Tiguan experience.
Dr. Kurt Leitner, Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Singapore: "Globally, the Tiguan has been the best-selling model of not only Volkswagen Passenger Cars but also the Volkswagen Group. Now, as we unveil the eagerly anticipated new generation of this iconic SUV, we're proud to introduce a vehicle that sets new standards in design and technology. Now available in Category A COE with the enhanced efficiency of mild hybrid drive, we're confident that the Tiguan will not only captivate but also deliver exceptional value to car buyers in Singapore."
Contemporary, powerful design. The confident design is typically Tiguan and typically Volkswagen but still completely new. A distinctive feature is the higher, more powerful looking front end. The standard LED headlights are integrated here. In between, a glass-covered horizontal bar with an integrated LED strip replaces the traditional radiator grille.
The all-new Tiguan is the first MQB model to be launched with the newly developed IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights. This high-tech lighting system with 38,400 multi-pixel LEDs - derived from the Touareg - illuminate the road and the surrounding area to a completely new level and therefore improve comfort and safety.
The smartly designed front highlights the fact that the drag coefficient has improved from 0.33 to 0.28. Athletic shoulder sections above the wheel housings dominate the silhouette. The wheels are up to 20-inch in size. A horizontal LED strip between the taillight clusters emphasises the width of the all-new Tiguan's new rear end.
Spacious upgrade. The all-new Tiguan is based on the latest evolutionary stage of the Modular Transverse Toolkit: the MQB evo. The innovative technology developments implemented with this kit improve the Tiguan in almost every area.
The Tiguan has increased in length by approximately three centimetres. The height, width and wheelbase remain practically identical to the predecessor. The luggage compartment capacity of the new generation shows just how good the use of space is: although the SUV is only slightly longer, its luggage compartment capacity has increased by 37 litres to a class-leading 652 litres (when loaded up to the height of the rear seat backrests).
Modern cockpit design shaped by drivers. Volkswagen has also completely redesigned the interior of the all-new Tiguan. With its high-quality materials and high finish standard, it breaks down conventional class boundaries. In addition, the components of the latest modular infotainment matrix (MIB4) are merged on board to create a clearly designed and tightly integrated cockpit landscape that is intuitive to operate.
The modules include the new 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit (digital instruments with anti- reflective coating in tablet landscape format), a large 15-inch infotainment screen with a completely new menu structure and graphics, a new head-up display (information projected on the windscreen) and a new multifunction driving experience switch with an integrated OLED display. This new dial with its own mini screen can be used to control the driving mode, radio volume or even the colours of the ambient lighting. The new IDA voice assistant can be used to easily operate countless vehicle functions using natural language, such as navigation or air conditioning.
Elevated comfort for long distances. The new ergoActive Plus seats with pneumatic four-way lumbar adjustment, pneumatic 10-chamber pressure massage function and ventilation are a perfect match for the high-quality character of the all-new Tiguan.
Efficient power with eTSI. The all-new Tiguan will be available with a new 48 V mild hybrid eTSI drive, delivering an output of 96 kW (130 PS) and have automatic ACT with automatic transmission (DSG). Like on the Volkswagen ID. models, the gear position will be changed in future by means of a steering column switch on the right of the steering wheel with a self-explanatory operating principle. The switch is turned forwards to "D" to drive forwards and backwards to "R" to reverse, while the parking brake is activated by pressing the side of the switch.
High-performance assist systems. The all-new Tiguan is equipped with a multitude of convenience and assist systems as standard. In addition to Side Assist (lane change system), Front Assist (autonomous emergency braking), Lane Assist (lane keeping system) and Travel Assist (semi-automated driving assistant), these also include Park Assist Plus for automatic driving into and out of parking spaces.
Limited-time introductory promotion. The all-new Tiguan is now available for purchase in two variants: Life and Life Plus, starting from $199,900 and $209,900, respectively. With a choice of seven colours, including the new additions of Persimmon Red Metallic and Cipressino Green Metallic, there's a shade to suit every taste.
Every new Tiguan is accompanied by a five-year warranty, three years of complimentary vehicle servicing, and five years of complimentary 24-hour Volkswagen Roadside Assistance.
